The largest basket of our collections; The Colonial Storage Trunk is an ostentatious piece of British craftsmanship and design Inspired by the Mid Colonial era, this basket boasts, extravagance, quality, and class, and is regarded as companies flagship item.
The basket is meticulously and painstakingly fashioned by our most experienced willow craftsman, with each willow rod being graded so that only the thickest, strongest rods can be woven into the basket.
The Colonial Storage Trunk is finished in the timeless buff willow, with a durable hide hinged lid and underbase wooden ash runners. This basket will face up to the daily rigours of any wear and tear. The delightful addition to this basket is the adept sliding bolt closure arrangement on the front which has been specially forged by a local blacksmith. Leather hide strips have been laced and tied to secure areas of the basket, couple this with the sewn-in hessian liner and you have a basket which is quite truly unique.
The basket is available in two large sizes and is made by hand in our workshops in Somerset, using locally grown Somerset willow.
